TomoCon: Comic-Con ’13: Capcom Roundup

The world of Capcom panel shared the latest details on all their upcoming games:

Dead Rising 3

Set 10 years after the events of the last game Nick Ramos, just your average mechanic, is trapped in a zombie infested city that the government has placed on lock down. The environment is to be expansive (you’re able to enter each building, search and discover various areas) and the Kinect adds to the core game play (so while you’re dodging zombies in your livingroom Nick is dodging zombies in game).

This Xbox One exclusive is set to be released Fall 2013.

Pheonix Wright Dual Destiny

The next installment of Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney will feature all your favorite characters with the addition of Simon Blackwell. New mechanic for the game will include a mood matrix that players will use to analyze characters emotional responses to questions to determine if they’re telling the truth or not.

Set to be released for Nintendo 3DS Fall 2013.

Lost Planet 3

This origin story takes places 30 years before the original Lost Planet. Fans can see a return to harsh and extreme conditions, game play variety (between running around or driving around on a rig) and up to 10 person multiplayer game play.

Pre-order with Gamestop or Amazon to recieve the “Freedom fighter package” which includes 5 characters for multi-player and rig upgrades. Rated T for Teen and set for release August 27, 2013 for Xbox360, PS3, and PC.

Ducktales Remastered

Nostalgic favorite of Comic-Con Ducktales Remastered.

Completely redone from the hand drawn sprites (over levels inspired from the TV series) to the remastered soundtrack, this title will feature new levels mixed with retro gameplay, tutorial, Scrooges’ money bin ( yes you can swim around Scrooge McDucks money) and museum.

Rated E for everyone the NES favorite is scheduled for release this August and will be available PS3and Xbox360.

Ultra Street Fighter IV

Completely rebalanced based on feedback from fans and professionals alike the new Street Fighter is bursting with extras. There will be new surprising content, the panelists wanted to leave some surprises but they were willing to tell us that there will be five new characters ( Hugo, Poison, Elena, Relento and one surprise character), six new stages, new moves and new costumes. The game can be purchased different ways:

  • $14.99 -Digital Upgrade from Super Street Fighter.
  • $39.99 Full game which will also include $40 worth of DLC. Pre-orders will include an extra costume for each character.

Set for release in early 2014 for PS3, XBox360 and PC.

Perhaps the most exciting news was that in early 2014 Strider would be returning. Building from the classic game Strider will retain the fast paced combat and abilities but will be enhanced by adding attributes to your cypher. Nonlinear game play means an expansive environment and unlocking various areas based on the upgrades you collect.

For information go to Capcom’s official blog. Strider will be available for PS3, PS4, Xbox360, Xbox One and PC via Steam.
