This all just rumor and speculation right now so take this all with a grain of salt. Fromsoftware, the developers behind Demon’s Souls and more recently Dark Souls I & II, are slated for a rumored, PS4 exclusive title tentatively called “Project Beast.”
Now there is come credence to this story. One: the developer’s director Hidetaka Miyazaki, stepped away from Dark Souls II early on to go work on a slated secret project, as he stated in an interview with Edge magazine.
“I will not be involved in the actual development of Dark Souls II,” he says matter-of-factly. “I want to clarify that I will be a supervisor, not the actual director or producer.”
It should also be noted that Demon’s Souls, while made by Fromsoftware, remains as a property, owned by Sony. This may be a trade between studios to get the Demon’s Souls license back into studio director, Miyazaki’s hands. Again this all just theory and speculation at the moment. but it’s hard to deny from the screenshots how much “Project Beast” resembles Fromsoftware’s previous games.
